TypoGraphic – Idea Generation

The Brief:

Choosing one from each of the categories A-C, design many experimental studies and three final typographic ‘images’. You should aim to use a maximum of three colours, three different kinds of text and three different techniques of generating typography. Your design should reflect your own interpretation of the words; showing the origin of the text, its tone and whether you agree with it or not. The methods of typography generation are entirely up to you. They can be traditional, experimental, found, photographed, handmade, etc. but they must all differ from each other, and communicate their intentions. There must be copious thumbnail sketches and ideas which should be hand-drawn in your sketchbook, and you must produce a final layout A1 worksheet from your designs.
