Artist Statement
For this project I have looked at music by Wilbur Soot, The songs ‘I’m in love with an E-girl’, ‘The Internet Ruined Me’ and ‘Your New Boyfriend’ follow a male character as he falls in love with an internet personality (Twitch Streamer). They enter a short relationship before he becomes obsessive and she breaks it off. This however only furthers his delusions and obsession. You see how he develops from a depressed teenager into an obsessive, delusional young adult then a still obsessive and jealous 26-year-old. He never moves away from his feelings only getting worse and worse. I chose to animate these and would, with more time develop this into a short film following the storyline from the three songs. My character design is made to look similar to Soot as a way to pay tribute to the key inspiration.
